Hello. My name is Lorita, and I'm a stamp-a-holic. But long before I was introduced to the Stampin' Up! world, (and even before I started scrapbooking), I was a punch-a-holic. I just love them! And I love combining them to create fun little critters and such.
Up til now, I had only made flat, 2-D punch art. But when I saw the cute little 3-D pumpkins, the wheels started turning in my head... and I knew I wanted to try to make a turkey.
At someone's suggestion, I am entering my turkey in Shelli's blog challenge for November :) The challenge theme is Season of Thanks...
I am so thankful this year... for two more places at the table. (Not that they'll be sitting at the table this year, but you know what I mean... and yes, I'll be making one for Johnathan too! .....And this place card is actually more of a rough draft anyway... just a quick one to test how well it would stand attached to the turkey and pumpkin.) Anyway.... Last year at Thanksgiving, I was expecting that we'd have one more family member this year. We hadn't found out it was twins yet. Then, when Johnathan & Matthew arrived 15 weeks early, we weren't sure if they would make it past a week, much less make it to November. I thank God every day for them. Their first Thanksgiving will be a very special one indeed.
Here's a start for the turkey tutorial I promised.
Lorita's 3-D Punch Turkey
Supplies needed:
Stampin' Up! Punches:
Wide Oval, Small Oval, Scallop Square, Scallop Circle, 3/4" Circle, Word Window, Large Star, Boho Blossom
Paper Snips,
Bone Folder,
Mini Glue Dots,
Tombow Multi-purpose Adhesive,
Black marker for eyes (or wiggle eyes, or small circle punches)
Cardstock or Designer Series Paper of your choice
(I used Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, Rose Red, and More Mustard)
Fold all wide ovals, scallop circles, and the word window in half using your bone folder for a nice crisp edge.
Cut scallop square in half diagonally.
Trim out one point from star.
Trim out one petal from boho blossom, skip 3 petals and trim away 5 more.
I am still working on the photo tutorial, but in the meantime, here is the video taken at the meeting I mentioned in my previous post.
It seems that the video has not been working. If you are unable to view it here, try this link.
When I watched it, my voice was not in sync with the picture... but I'm told it was ok later. So... if it looks like I am not talking about what I am showing... sorry!
I hope you enjoy it! Stay tuned for more!
